The Cooperative Vocabulary Game That Gets Students Talking

Built for the Chromebooks your school already has, in grades 5–9. Teams sit in a circle, each seeing different clues—they must talk to match terms. No more silent clicking. Perfect for ESL, ELA, and World Language classes.

About Outlaw Roundup

Outlaw Roundup is a free, web-based vocabulary game for classrooms. Teachers create a set of terms and definitions, start a game, and share a six-character code. Students join from any browser on a school Chromebook, laptop or tablet. Each student sees a different part of the answer, so a team can only match a term by talking to each other. It is designed for grades 5–9 and is especially used in ESL, English Language Arts and World Language classes.

After a game, the teacher gets a report showing which terms the class found hardest, so they know what to reteach. The game is free to use, with an optional paid Supporter plan that unlocks an AI word-bank generator and larger class sizes.

Signing in with Google

Only teachers sign in. Students never create an account and are never asked for any personal information. A teacher may sign in with Google instead of creating a password. When they do, we receive their name, email address and profile picture from their Google Account, and we use that information for one purpose: to create and identify their teacher account so their question sets and class reports are saved to them.

We do not use Google account data for advertising, we do not sell or share it, and we request no access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service. A teacher can delete their account, and everything in it, at any time from their account settings.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Legal & Compliance hub, which covers how we meet COPPA, FERPA, PIPEDA and Alberta FOIP requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Outlaw Roundup free?👇

Yes! The game, the question bank, classes and reports are free for sheriffs and deputies alike, forever.

Can I use my own vocabulary lists?👇

Absolutely. You can paste any list of terms and definitions, or upload a CSV file. It takes seconds to convert a Quizlet set or textbook list.

How many players can play?👇

The game is optimized for posses of 4, but works well with 3-5 deputies per team. A roundup seats up to 20 players — as many teams as you like within that.
